The Ada brand is a Premium modern womenswear fashion brand made in Nigeria. It’s the sister brand of the designer label, Alter Ego (now renamed Ego Maduekwe). It was launched in 2010 by Ego Maduekwe. Our pieces are made in small batches by skilled artisans  in our workshop in Lagos, Nigeria.

 The brand was launched to provide easy pieces to suit  the modern African woman’s Lifestyle.  Feminine, playful pieces using classic silhouettes, punctuated with unique detailing.  Our signature pieces play with the fluid and flowy proportions and shapes of traditional Nigerian or African apparel (the Buba, the kaftan, the up and down). Ego Maduekwe is a pioneer in the design and production of custom fabrics based on traditional African prints including Aso oke, Ankara and Adire. We collaborate with talented local textile designers and artisans in the design and production of our unique prints. 

 All our pieces are made to be worn for a long time. Sustainability and slow fashion is a cornerstone of our business. We are building a lifestyle brand committed to providing employment in our community as well as providing well made, well designed apparel for confident women. 

Ada pieces have been worn by many icons including Njideka Akunyili Crosby and Chimamanda Adichie. The brand has appeared in Vogue, WWD, Vogue Italia, Elle South Africa, and others.
